Year 6 ~ Tamarind Class
17th December 2020
6T’s engineers of the future have been busy this half term, lighting up the classroom by designing their own Christmas lights! Following a design brief, they explored the differences between series and parallel circuits and created their first prototype of Christmas lights. Pupils gave themselves some really creative company and light names. Although, there were issues with the lights along the way, their resilience and problem-solving skills shone through and they were successful at building the circuits. They pitched and presented their designs to the Dragons in the Den.

6T have been very busy this term, studying and comparing the drawings and illustrations of Charles Darwin, M. G. Leonard and Ben Rothery. They practiced a range of sketching techniques including: hatching, contour hatching, cross hatching, random hatching, stippling and ink wash. Using the sketching techniques, they had learnt, they practised minimising the illustrations and produced their own drawings in the style of Ben Rothery’s illustrations. Have a look at the amazing drawings of some of our budding artists!
